The healthcare space includes multiple key players, including public and private providers, doctors, patients, and insurance companies, all working toward the same goal, albeit in a fragmented manner. In a country like India, which has a large population, there are several aspects such as affordability, accessibility, and efficiency that can still be improved for a better healthcare provision. It is remarkable what doctors in India manage to accomplish given the current doctor-patient ratio. While accessing healthcare is easier in certain regions, it is not uniformly available across all tiered cities, presenting a significant challenge. However, since the COVID-19 prevalence, healthtech and telemedicine solutions’ grounding have been fortifying the healthcare system today.
Eka Care is one of the prominent healthtech solutions companies that play a significant role in enhancing healthcare systems today. It was co-founded by industry experts Vikalp Sahni, former CTO & Co-Founder of Goibibo. com, & Volunteer Architect for Aarogya Setu (GOI, Contact Tracing App) and Deepak Tuli, Co-Founder at Goibibo.com and Chief Business Officer at MakeMyTrip.com, among other roles. Eka Care is dedicated to creating a more connected healthcare ecosystem for improved health management across the country. Also, Dr Sanjana SN, a seasoned medical professional with an MBBS, an MD in Community Medicine, and specialization in Diabetology is instrumental in leading Eka Care.
As a founding member of Eka Care, she plays a key role in shaping the company's vision and healthcare initiatives. Her insights into the challenges faced by healthcare providers and patients help Eka Care develop effective solutions. By integrating medical practice with technology, she ensures that Eka Care remains focused on clinical realities while innovating in digital health.
The Key Facets
Be it managing health records, monitoring health vitals, or others, revolutionizing healthcare with Generative AI, Eka Care provides intelligent solutions for doctors, patients, developers, hospitals, and more. Its healthtech solutions are easy to use, NHA approved, ABDM compliant, AWS secured, and FHIR compliant ensuring to empower healthcare practice efficaciously. Dr Sanjana shares, “We recognized some fundamental problems in the healthcare ecosystem, particularly the need for better connected care. While doctors are performing exceptionally well and patients have access to various services, the challenge lies in how to effectively connect these two key players in the healthcare system. Eka Care leverages advanced AI to connect fragmented healthcare element, empowering doctors and patients alike with smarter, more efficient tools for better outcomes.
Our approach aligns with the goals of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), which is laying the groundwork for a robust technological and regulatory framework. At Eka Care, we are focused on creating a platform that enables every key stakeholder to engage, innovate, and enhance efficiency and accessibility in healthcare”.
As a healthtech focused company, Eka Care emphasizes on the two main aspects, the doctor and the patient. A few years ago, clinic management systems and electronic medical records (EMRs) were rarely used due to adoption challenges. However, EMRs can enhance operational efficiency in medical offices. On the patient side, a personal health record (PHR) app allows individuals to track health metrics and maintain digital health records on their mobile devices. Integrating these medical records into a shared platform can improve both patient care and the healthcare ecosystem.
Dr Sanjana states, “Initially, the company created the EMR and later developed the PHR app. Now, it has evolved into a comprehensive platform similar to a healthcare operating system (OS), offering APIs through a developer portal for innovation and collaboration. The company also offers an optical character recognition (OCR) feature that converts medical records into digital smart reports, helping users track health trends, especially for chronic conditions like diabetes. Additionally, it is also developing self-assessment APIs to aid patient triage in remote areas, allowing users to evaluate symptoms and monitor heart rates by simply placing their fingers on phone's camera. Regular monitoring through these tools can lead to improved health outcomes”.
The company’s two week refund policy term applied to its solutions is a great catch. Eka Care’s refund policy is a great attempt to make the doctors understand the importance of using EMR system and easing their jobs while attending countless outpatients. On the flip side, through this policy, the company also stands up to the quality and efficiency of its solutions. In a single day of outpatient department (OPD) practice, a doctor might write prescriptions for up to 100 patients, making the switch to a digital Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system challenging. By integrating AI into its EMR system, the company is making the transition seamless for doctors, showing them how technology can save time and improve patient care. Eka Care strongly believes in harnessing technology to shape a healthier future for millions across India with better health outcomes.

Growth Ahead
Eka Care is evolving into a horizontal platform aimed at addressing the needs of all stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem. “Overall, we aspire to democratize healthcare. Thus far, our focus has been primarily on serving doctors and patients, but we will continue to broaden our reach to include more healthcare professionals both nationally and internationally. We want to collaborate with all key stakeholders to improve patient outcomes within a currently fragmented healthcare ecosystem. India’s healthcare system is at a crossroads, and AI has the potential to usher in a transformative era. At Eka Care, we’re building intelligent systems that not only solve immediate challenges but also lay the groundwork for a future where care delivery is more efficient, accessible, and data-driven for all stakeholders”, concludes Dr Sanjana.
Notably, Eka Care is one of the leading private organizations in implementing Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs. To date, it remains among the top private players in creating unique health IDs for patients.
