As per recent estimates, Singapore’s water treatment solutions market which stood at $39.43 billion in 2022 is expected to be worth $81.48 billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 8.4 percent during the forecast period.
In light of such fine conditions, we are seeing an increased number of individuals in Singapore garner fame and repute on a global scale in recent times. One such astute industry leader who has played an instrumental role in driving his company towards the pinnacle of success is Stephane Oziol, Managing Director, CTP environment Asia Pacific.
Treasure Trove of Industry Knowledge
Holding a PG degree in Mechanical & Chemical Engineering from Aix-Marseille University and master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Polytech Marseille in France, Stephane has also completed the Executive MBA program with specialization in Finance, International Marketing, Leadership & Negotiation and business Strategy from the Rutgers Business School in New Jersey US. He started his career as a Scientific Attache at the French Embassy in Malaysia, and since then, handled key positions with numerous companies such as SLB, EJ, and Duvalco Valves & Fittings across Asia Pacific, Europe and Middle East, prior to joining CTP environnement Group in 2011. Today, Stephane has earned a reputation of being among one of the most seasoned industry leaders in Singapore with over 25 years of vast experience across diverse business development and managerial functions.
“When I joined the company as its GM - APAC Sales & Operations, CTP environment Asia Pacific was in the process of diversifying its service portfolio and foraying into the wastewater treatment. Thus, my responsibility initially at CTP environment Asia Pacific
in Singapore was to develop its mobile wastewater treatment business in Asia region, which was quite challenging because it was still a new concept in this part of the world back then. I first developed an efficient local team and created a few wellstructured processes in order to develop more demand for the new service offering. Today, as the Managing Director, I oversee the company’s operations in APAC & Middle East regions and ensure that every project that we are working on is implemented well within in the predetermined budget and at par with the clients’ expectations. Over the last two years, I have also been working on mobile wastewater treatment business in Middle East”, says Stephane.
Exquisite Portfolio of Offerings
Based in France, CTP environnement Group was founded in 1926 and is today the global leader in designing and deploying large variety of solutions for cleaning heat generation equipment and treating the associated waste. The company offers chemical cleaning services for a large variety of industrial applications such as boilers, furnaces, air condensers, heat exchangers, cooling towers and many others. Under industrial effluent treatment, its services include discharge compliance upgrade, accidental pollution, sludge clearing & dewatering, plant bypass, plant capacity boosting, recycling process water & discharge of hazardous substance, to name a few. Stephane strives to empower his team members by encouraging them to take ownership of their works and make decisions wherever feasible
As a client-centric organization, CTP environnement Group is strictly against ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach and ensures to tailor-make all its solutions as per the clients’ requirements. CTP’s strength in terms of innovation lies in its ability to containerize its treatment plants in such a way that they are small in size and easy to move around, while simultaneously being capable of treating high volumes of wastewater with utmost efficiency. Further, the company greatly leveraging cutting-edge technologies and integrates automation into all its treatment plants, along with providing the users with the luxury of controlling these equipment remotely as well.
“Firstly, whenever a company doesn’t have the capability to treat waste in-house or need to take care of any kind of abnormal waste, it has to either transport the waste outside for external treatment or install a temporary treatment plant within their premises. Secondly, when a company increases its production capacity, it also results in the increase in waste being generated. However, investing in enhancing the capacity of wastewater treatment systems adversely impacts the company’s CAPEX & OPEX and is not a sustainable investment in the long run. This is where CTP is coming into picture. By providing such companies with mobile wastewater treatment plants, we are enabling them to manage their wastes effectively without having to shell-out huge monies on relying on external treatments or upgrading the existing infrastructure”, adds Stephane.
Unique Style of Leadership
As a leader, Stephane lays prime emphasis on maintaining a transparent communication with all his team members. Also, he makes sure to assign the tasks as per the individuals’ skill sets and strives to empower his team members by encouraging them to take ownership of their works and make decisions wherever feasible. Further, Stephane strongly believe in having a systematic reporting process in place and always sets specific targets for his team to achieve. This way, he is not only contributing towards the overall sustainable growth of the organization, but also helping his team members hone their leadership skills and achieve their career aspirations.
When asked about his plans for the future, Stephane says, “Given the rapid pace at which market dynamics are changing in recent times, I want to pay close attention to the present industry trends and accordingly devise strategies for CTP. However, I will continue focusing on the company's growth by setting specific targets for my team members and bringing-in new process so that we can achieve sustained organizational growth over the next decade”.
