The Indian organic food market size is expected to reach $10,807.9 million by 2033, exhibiting a growth rate (CAGR) of 20.13 percent during 2025-2033, according to IMARC Group. Several factors have contributed in unison to making this sector grow at a rapid rate. Post COVID-19, awareness about organic and non-organic products has grown tremendously and consumers have become selective about anything that is going inside the body or being applied on the skin. The government is also trying to promote organic farming and currently, few states have emerged which have been able to completely adopt it.
However, increased consumption of organic food and personal care products has also increased the rate of adulteration in raw materials. Especially for products like Ghee and Honey that are experiencing an ever-increasing demand, it is becoming difficult even for manufacturers to track raw material sources amidst an ocean of orders from end consumers. To combat this challenge, Vaaradhi Farms strictly monitors the number of products manufactured and limits its sales volumes so that all the products can be easily tracked to their sources. Through this approach, the company never has and will have to compromise on quality and stand out in the market as an authentic products manufacturer and supplier.
For the company, quality is always a priority. It is aware of the fact that organic products are in heavy demand but to maintain quality for all the 362 products it manufactures, Vaaradhi Farms strictly monitors production volumes at all times. “Every batch manufactured for all our products goes through testing and is approved based on lab certifications. We source our raw materials from trusted suppliers present at strategic locations across the state. To give an example, we source our raw honey from very specific regions of forests through trusted farmers, and that makes our supply chain mechanism stand out in the market”, mentions Nethra Reddy, Founder, Vaaradhi Farms. We source our raw materials from trusted suppliers located strategically across the state, such as obtaining our raw honey from specific forest regions through reliable farmers, which makes our supply chain stand out in the market
Focus on Quality
To understand the company’s focus on quality, we need to know about the processes that it follows internally. Looking at the increased awareness about organic food and personal care products, Vaaradhi Farms also wants to play an active role in educating consumers regarding the various advantages of using them. In today’s world, non-organic farming has become mainstream which was not the scenario 30 years ago. To make the produce look better and more palatable, producers are using several synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. The company wants to make consumers see this as the problem of the generation that wants them to stay informed about organic products and their various benefits.
Through social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, the company shares various posts that educate consumers about the nature and color of various organic products. “There is a common misconception in consumers regarding the actual color of organic honey. There are various brands in the market selling it and all the colours differ from each other. Here, we want to make consumers understand the color of the honey that they should go for. When raw honey is sourced, it also consists of pollens and has a different color. That honey, when filtered and packaged, will again undergo a color change. There are other specifics about other organic products like this that we want consumers to be aware of”, states Nethra.
The company encourages consumers to go organic altogether. It believes that the whole generation needs to adopt an organic lifestyle and make it a point to maintain that. Today, the market can distinguish between organic and non-organic products through branding but Vaaradhi Farms wants organic to be the only one that remains. Starting from a small outlet of 200 square feet, the company now handles an outlet of 1000 square feet and is getting online orders from all the states of South India. “None of the products stay in our warehouse for more than two weeks. In the case of vegetables, it is hours. We believe in providing consumers the most fresh products and highly optimize the time gap between farm and home”, says Nethra.
Looking Ahead
Since its inception, the company has been able to gain considerable trust and recognition in the market with superior quality products and an honest approach. Looking ahead, it plans on adding more products to its portfolio and opening more stores across all South Indian states. “We want to build a community where consumers will support an organic lifestyle and make it an integral part of their lives”, concludes Nethra.
