Syeda Rizwana Hassan, who serves as an environment adviser, attended the event.The nations have signed an important trilateral agreement in this area, emphasizing the progress in regional energy cooperation, as per press release statement from the Ministry of Environment, Forest, Climate Change, and Water Resources. In accordance with this agreement, 40 MW of electricity is set to be transmitted from Nepal to Bangladesh through India for a period of five months spanning from June to November. The press release did not specify the duration of the deal.Nepal's Minister of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, Bangladesh's Water Resources Secretary, Nazmul Ahsan, and Nepal's Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, were present at the event. During her speech, Rizwana highlighted that this agreement represents a major advancement in the growth of regional energy commerce. "This is not just about meeting our immediate energy needs, but also about ensuring the long-term energy security of our nations in an environmentally friendly manner."Previously, she had a meeting with Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the Singha Darbar, where they talked about issues of mutual interest. Astruck by Nidec Motor Corporation, a subsidiary of Nidec Corporation, a global maker of electric motor drives with headquarters in Japan, and Ashok Leyland, the Indian flagship of the Hinduja Group. Through this collaboration, Ashok Leyland and Nidec will be able to create innovative e-drive motors and systems that are tailored to the unique requirements of the Indian commercial vehicle market, assuring cutting-edge and effective electric mobility solutions.In order to create a Center of Excellence (CoE) for Electric Drive Units (EDUs), Ashok Leyland and Nidec will combine. This CoE will focus on creating state-of-the-art gear-shifting mechanisms, power electronics systems, and motor technologies for electrically powered vehicles. Joint research and development efforts will also be a part of the partnership; both businesses will contribute to lab infrastructure, skill development, and the definition of creative distinct motor technologies for Ashok Leyland's and its subsidiary Switch Mobility's EV portfolio.
