This expansion can be attributed to several factors such as the growing importance that companies are placing on their employees' engagement, interaction and performance. With the increased understanding of the importance of team building activities in enhancing cooperation and boosting morale in the workplace, the market for purpose built facilities that not only provide leisure but also structured team building activities has blossomed. The Philippines due to its diverse terrains ranging from beaches to mountains is suitable for such activities. This is something that resorts have been taking advantage of by coming up with packages that are customized to include business meetings and incentives, physical activities, health and fitness, and other group activities. New locations are therefore being developed to fit the bill because they are easily accessible from large cities. Furthermore, the trend of focusing on the overall corporate wellness has made it necessary for the resorts to diversify their services beyond mere leisure activities. Some now employ professional trainers, special courses and sessions, and health promotion activities for the purpose of improving interpersonal communication, management and decision-making. Also, the increased awareness of environmental conservation has made tour companies incorporate CSR programs in their packages to enable organizations to undertake environmental conservation projects during their team building exercises in resorts. Another factor that has contributed to the growth of the market is the enhancement of the infrastructure that has made these destinations more accessible. It is with the view of staying updated with the emerging trends in this business landscape that Asia Business Outlook has come up with a special issue containing stories of companies that have demonstrated their capability through their expertise.
