Outdoor education is always in demand since certain topics cannot be learned through a textbook or in a classroom. Students must go outside to experience the richness of human- nature relationships, broaden their cultural and global perspectives, grow as individuals, and gain the benefits of outdoor skill acquisition. People are becoming more knowledgeable about the multiple benefits of outdoor education as a result of numerous research findings.
People are more inclined to participate in outdoor programs as the covid-19 situation improves and more activities are permitted to restart. Firms are also becoming more imaginative and dynamic as they embrace the ever-growing digital era, where top management prefers more adventurous individuals who are not afraid to take on new challenges over complacent staff.
Natural Instinct is elevating outdoor learning by including nature and wildlife education into its adventurous curriculum. The firm's top objective is to provide the finest outdoor learning experience possible by optimizing its programs to suit the diverse learning demands of its participants. Its programs are also constantly evolving to ensure that they align with the current curriculum that the participants are learning. They also believe that immersing children in various natural environments improves their experimental and hands-on abilities which substantially contributes to the development of an inquisitive brain.
"Natural Instinct aims to bridge the gap between young people and Mother Nature in a world where technology and urbanization are fast taking over. It seeks not only to instil in them a love and respect for nature, but also to teach them the science of forestry, such as how to better manage, repair, and protect natural resources. It is critical to unite everyone to save the earth we currently inhabit.
Our younger generations must be more conscience of the environment, safeguard biodiversity, and learn the value of maintaining a healthy ecosystem, including the food chain, the air we breathe, the soil we walk on, and the water that hydrates us. Finally, the goal is to limit the impact of global warming and climate change and to build a more sustainable planet for us and
future generations to enjoy", shares, Jonathan Chua.
Natural Instinct provides a wide range of services such as corporate team-building events, weekly classes on youth fitness (youth athlete development program) and outdoor education (junior Tarzan), school holiday programs, forest adventurers, night detectives, exploring nature on wheels, guided tours, organized workshops, customize programs, and overnight camps.
"Clients normally recognize that there is a certain level of risk associated with participating in outdoor activities, however, we never compromise on safety because it is critical in our company. Effective communication is also vital in assuring parents that their children are in good hands. Lastly, we do not squander our participants' time, as all of our programs are designed in a way to maximize their learning experiences while they are with us," says Jonathan Chua.
For the Best Learning Outcomes
Natural Instinct participants will participate in a variety of outdoor adventures organized into five categories to ensure the best learning results such as personal skills, social skills, technical skills, human-nature linkages, and cultural and global diversity/views (Asfeldt and Hvenegaard 2014). Personal skills outcomes include increased self-confidence, self-esteem, and selfawareness (Martin & Leberman, 2005). Leadership, decision-making, and group work are examples of social skills (Hattie, March, Neill, & Richards, 1997). The technical abilities required differ based on the sort of outdoor activity (i.e., climbing vs. skiing).
Nonetheless, examples of technical abilities include using a map and compass, canoeing, and outdoor cooking (Paisley, Furman, Sibthorp & Gookin, 2008). Human-nature links indicate a better understanding of topics such as ecology and geography, human impacts on nature, and a greater appreciation and awareness of natural environments (Asfeldt & Hvenegaard, 2014). Cultural and global diversity/perspectives include OAE experiences that form worldviews and prepare students to communicate with people from different cultures (Beames & Stott, 2008; Takano, 2010).
The best experience happens when you mix nature with adventure!
The Overall Journey
Natural Instinct took a risk during the pandemic and began operations in March 2021, never looking back. The firm is grateful since it has many returning participants and parents who have expressed their appreciation for the work through their nice and generous testimonies. In addition, the firm has been recognized as the best in nature and outdoor education by the local parent community. It also sends some of its pupils abroad to partake in a variety of outdoor activities. “There is definitely a trend for this and it will not go away anytime soon. We have no plans to scale down as well. Instead, we are already in the midst of finalizing our next phase to introduce another different kind of adventure as we move forward,” concludes Jonathan Chua.
