In conversation with Prisila, correspondent, Asia Business Outlook Magazine. Sudeep shares his views on how AI is revolutionizing bringing decision-making in businesses and the future of business intelligence.'
How are changes in market dynamics being monitored and predicted using artificial intelligence? How does artificial intelligence (AI) affect marketing?
Artificial intelligence is helping to identify patterns and protect from market abuse. Artificial intelligence is also helping to comply with ever-evolving regulatory landscape and help monitor trading activities.
"DevOps team are taking advantage of Artificial Intelligence to move towards more automation so that engineering teams can deliver with confidence."
With an increase of high frequency and low latency trading, there is an ever-growing need to ensure that the markets are monitored properly and in-line with the regulatory requirements particularly for large financial institutions and AI and ML layer is providing the advanced layer over the existing data analytics to provide the correct alerts for business and compliance divisions to make the right decisions.
What effects do you anticipate that developing technologies like artificial intelligence will have on the labour market and various industries over the next few years and how can people and organizations adapt? Do you think AI will eventually replace human workers?
Studies conducted by governments have shown that that developing technologies like artificial intelligence will have a positive impact of efficiency, productivity and boost the GDP of the countries though it is now also well-established that ~10% of the existing jobs may be replaced by automation done through Artificial Intelligence. There is also a established view that new jobs will also be created in labour market due to advent of Artificial Intelligence like Data Science, Generative AI engineers, Robotic Engineers etc and hence leaders like Rishi Sunak (PM – UK) wants to make Maths compulsory for all young person up to the age of 18. Though there may be some job losses in industries like wholesale and retail, public admin, transportation and logistics and manufacturing, there will be gains in industries like Health and Social Work, Professional and Scientific, Education and Information Communications.
How AI is revolutionizing bringing decision-making in businesses and the future of business intelligence.
With advent of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, decision-making in business has been revolutionised. AI and Data Analytics are now automating tasks and activities which were pre-requisites for decision-making like creating data reports, understanding of trends are now done at much faster speed which is leading to more effective and efficient decision-making models in business. Business intelligence is now focussed on broader strategic impacts for the business and how to do sustainable growth while keeping in-line with local laws and regulations. Low-value tasks and real-time insights are now easily provided by Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning models which have helped optimize organizational resources.
Do you believe that the use of AI extends beyond the creation of software and also enables programmers to distribute their work in the most economical manner? If so, could you explain?
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are now playing a critical role in Software Development Lifecycle particularly post creation of software. As part of DevOps, AI is changing the landscape to be more AIOPs and Quality is now an integral part of this. Having AI models run continuous testing as part of post build stage, helps engineers find all types of issues prior to final release some of which are not limited to - how the product will work functionally in a client environment, have the changes broken anything already working for the clients (regression), will the changes meet or exceed the current performance of the system or actually degrades it, will the client see any difference once the changes are released if they are using it on laptop vs mobile devices etc. Another area where AI is helping post creation of software is to understand the data on which the software will actually work at clients and to be able to mimic that in the testing environments. Testing a software in the right data set is most complex considering the transactional data on the software with the client maybe in millions and there are multiple clients, and each have their own datasets. AI helps with generation of such datasets individually focussed on each client so that software testing post build can be done in all confidence and then software is distributed to all the clients.

How can a DevOps Team take Advantage of Artificial Intelligence? And please share tactics can be taken into consideration by enterprises to improve the performance of AI in DevOps problem-solving.
DevOps team are taking advantage of Artificial Intelligence to move towards more automation so that engineering teams can deliver with confidence. Artificial Intelligence is augmenting software development with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment/Continuous Testing (CI/CD/CT) as well as automated alarming for Production. Reducing MTTR (Mean Time to Recover) which is a critical KPI for Technical Operations is now being done using AI and ML Models by quickly looking at historical data and understanding root causes to scan through realms of application logs to find the actual error. Continuous Monitoring is another aspect of the Artificial Intelligence in DevOps where application is checked on multiple parameters throughout the day and night from constant log checking to database scans to detect anomalies, outlier detection and forecasting so that Technical Operations can spend less time to data analysis and more to understand the impact.
