The Asia Pacific fire safety equipment market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.2 percent from 2024 to 2030 according to Grand View Research. In terms of revenue, Asia Pacific region accounted for 21.6 percent of the global fire safety equipment market last year. The industry is likely to grow on the account of economic growth, industrialization and government spending on infrastructure projects. Though being a fragmented market, the fire safety market in India has sufficient opportunities and future prospects for all domestic and international players.
However, several challenges are faced by clients while availing products from fire and safety appliances manufacturers. There are various after sales services like maintenance, audits and overall safety management required for these products. Other issues involve around lack of compliance awareness and importance of training which is most important in life and investment threatening calamities and accidents.
IF&S is one-of–a-kind manufacturer and solutions provider in this sector, which provides customized solutions and undertakes long term turnkey installation and maintenance contracts. IF&S also offers various value added services like fire safety audits, thermal imaging audits and AI software based fire and safety solutions for large industries, multiple location corporates, government projects and institutions. IF&S works across a gamut of industries including defence, aviation, maritime , oil & gas, high rise buildings, healthcare, railways and banking sector. IF&S is positioned to increase its share in the fire and safety market by introducing innovative and country specific products to meet the local compliance requirements.
The company has multiple products and services available in in India manufacturing ‘carcinogen free’ products. This ensures that we are ethically inclined towards our contribution to a healthy society and safety of the fire fighters who form the matrix of the whole industry. We urge the general public to be aware of what is being filled in their fire extinguishers and not just go for the cheapest options as these “cheap products” can be “very expensive” in long run causing diseases like cancer to our current and future generations. Moreover, the non standard “cheapest fire and safety products” may not offer safety at all, have lower quality, less shelf life and need frequent replenishment.
Focus on Innovation
IF&S’s latest product offering for emergency evacuation is in collaboration with a British OEM which is the “World’s only compressed gas free (cylinderless) Emergency Breathing Apparatus”,
weighing just 1.6 kg. It is a known fact that smoke in a building fire incident is the major cause of losses of human life. The only option that was available in the world market was the bulky ’Gas cylinder based breathing apparatus set’ where a 15kg/20 kg setup needs to be carried on shoulders to support human life in emergencies like smoke, gas leak, nuclear warfare etc.
“The market was always looking for an easily manageable solution for saving human lives in oxygen deficient environments created during disasters like fire, earthquakes, gas leaks, nuclear leaks, volcanic eruptions and industrial disasters”, mentioned Girish. This product is certified by the UK government and best testing agencies in Europe and is maintenance free for the entire life span of 15 years unless used unlike the cylinder based options that need maintenance and always carry the risk of explosion.
Addressing Challenges
In most of the Asian countries, there is serious problem that there is no policy related to disposal of used firefighting chemicals and other fire safety devices (that are not controlled under any other law). Thus all the expired / unusable products are entering the environment through water and soil. These chemicals and carcinogens enter the human body through water and food and cause various diseases, thus endangering our lives and that of our future generations.
With all the best practices in place, IF&S has successfully catered to over 100,000 customers, including residential societies and government & private sector organizations such as HAL, Indian Railways, IOCL, ICMR, ITBP, Goa Shipyards, HDFC Ergo, Tata Elxi, Bajaj Allianz, Adani Group, Torrent Gas and others in India.
“The carcinogens present in fire safety gear and firefighting have now known to be a common reason for causing cancers in the firefighting personnel and other users. To tackle this issue, we are now in the advanced phase of introducing ‘carcinogen-free’ firefighting products, becoming the pioneers to do so in India. This way, we are striving towards enhancing the safety of our firefighters and contributing towards the betterment of the society”, stated Girish.

Promoting Environmental Sustainability
IF&S has started an NGO focused at health, safety and environment to get all stakeholders to work in collaboration. It is known by the name INTERNATIONAL HSE FOUNDATION and is based in New Delhi. The target of the NGO is to further the cause of sustainability in the fire and safety appliances industry. It is raising awareness and aiming to take up the causes with the decision makers including the governments and judiciary”, said Girish.
Future Endeavours
IF&S is in advanced stage of introducing AI based fire detection and suppression solution that can manage multiple systems installed across geographies while sharing the alarm alerts locally or as customized by the user. The product comes with three year warranty and free service for limited period.
IF&S is actively looking for country specific distributors and investors to be able to make an impact in the markets.
