Customers in Vietnam can now use Apple Pay with their iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac, according to an announcement made by Apple on Aug 7. According to the company, the launch provides an easy, secure, and private way for Apple customers to pay for everything in their daily routines, including purchases with large and small retailers in stores, apps, and on the web.
Apple Pay claims to improve customers' lives by adding speed and convenience, whether they're grabbing a coffee at Rang Rang Coffee, buying groceries from Annam Gourmet, or making an online purchase from Shopee. Beginning Monday, thousands of locations will accept Apple Pay across major credit and debit networks, with support from some of Vietnam's most established banks.
According to VN Express International, Vietnam is the third Southeast Asian country to accept Apple Pay, following Malaysia and Singapore.
"Contactless payments are an increasing mainstay in the day-to-day lives of our customers in Vietnam, and we are so thrilled to bring Apple Pay to Vietnam today and provide customers with an easy, secure, and private way to pay with Apple devices," said Jennifer Bailey, Apple's vice president of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet. "Whether they're tapping to pay in-store at top merchants or securely making online purchases with their favourite e-commerce retailers and apps, we believe Apple Pay will seamlessly integrate into Vietnamese customers' daily routines."
According to the company, security and privacy are at the heart of Apple Pay.
