Baznas and the UNDP expand their partnership to help achieve the SDGs. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the National Alms Agency (Baznas) have stepped up their cooperation to help Indonesia meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
"The collaboration between Baznas and UNDP reflects the synergy between local strengths and international partners. Alms, infaq, and donation (ZIS) are no longer just short-term social assistance but have become an impactful long-term financing instrument," Baznas Deputy Chairman Mokhamad Mahdum said.
He claimed that ZIS has a lot of potential as a cutting-edge development funding source and guaranteed that the community's alms would have a lasting effect.
Mahdum stated that Baznas is willing to use creativity and technology to carry out projects, including working with pertinent ministries and organizations to replicate effective initiatives.
Sujala Pant, the Deputy Resident Representative for UNDP Indonesia, praised the partnership's strengthening and emphasized Indonesia's enormous potential to use cutting-edge funding, including ZIS, to achieve the SDGs.
Pant commended Indonesia's accomplishments in issuing instruments that are global models for financing development, such as Green Sukuk and SDG Bond. Therefore, by focusing on the most disadvantaged populations, working with Baznas is anticipated to accelerate the achievement of SDGs.
