Colt Data Centre Services announced its entry into India by opening a facility in Navi Mumbai and committing to an investment of USD 865 million.
Pratap Mane, the company's India head, stated that the first phase of the facility in Navi Mumbai has cost USD 115 million.
Mane stated that the company will invest another USD 750 million across the country, bringing the total investment to USD 865 million, without specifying a timeline for the investment.
"Colt DCS' entry into the Indian market reaffirms our commitment to becoming the industry's leading customer-centric data centre operator," said Chief Executive Niclas Sanfridsson, adding that the company's strategic expansion will continue.
It can be noted that the last few years have seen a slew of investments or announcements into the data centre business, including by the Adani Group and others.
