EHang and Partners to Establish eVTOL Production Facility in China

EHang Holdings Limited (Guangzhou, China) has declared a strategic partnership framework agreement with Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co. Ltd., based in Hefei. (JAC Motors) and Hefei Guoxian Holdings Co., Ltd. (Guoxian Holdings). According to this agreement, the partners aim to create a joint venture in Hefei, China, to invest in building an advanced manufacturing facility for low-altitude aircraft. The establishment will combine cutting-edge technology, uniformity, and automation to manufacture smart and unmanned electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL).

According to the agreement, all three partners will work together on the R&D, production, and marketing of this new kind of eVTOL aircraft to expedite technological progress and industrial development, and increase production capacity. The collaboration will integrate the new vehicle industrial chain in Hefei with airplane manufacturing technology, enhance the standardization of essential aircraft components, create unified industry standards, and develop a complete industrial cluster. This project aims to promote the growth of the low-altitude economy and a novel multidimensional transportation system.

Recognized as one of the top 100 industrial enterprises in China, JAC Motors will utilize its proficiency in conventional automobile manufacturing, such as established production line processes, cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, and effective production capacity along with supply chain management, to enhance and automate eVTOL aircraft manufacturing.

Guoxian Holdings, an important participant in the International Advanced Technology Application Promotion Center (Hefei), which fosters innovations, resource integration, and the development of new high-quality productive forces, will promote policy assistance and establish a conducive environment for collaboration.

EHang is working closely with various local governments and partners to get ready for future commercial activities in the low-altitude economy, focusing on infrastructure development, workforce training, and increasing production capacity.
