Based on the head of Indonesia's upstream oil and gas regulator, Italy's Eni will sign a deal with Chevron Corp on July 25 to take over the American company's stake in the Indonesia Deepwater Development project.
SKK Migas chief Dwi Soetjipto said on the sidelines of the Indonesia Petroleum Association conference that the agreement would be signed around 9:30 a.m. UK time (0830 GMT).
Dwi stated that the IDD project will be modified to incorporate the nearby Jangkrik and North Ganal blocks operated by Eni in the Kutai basin.
The Bangka, Gendalo, and Gehem gas fields are part of the IDD project, which is located in the Makassar Strait.
Chevron owns 62 percent of the Bangka project and approximately 63 percent of the Gendalo-Gehem project.Eni is already a partner in the project, along with Indonesia's state energy firm Pertamina and China's Sinopec.
