Goldman Sachs Group Inc announced on Wednesday the launch of its transaction banking business for corporate clients in Japan, as the American investment bank expands in the world's third-largest economy.
Goldman, which received its Japanese banking licence in 2021, stated that it will offer clients treasury services such as deposits, cash management, and cross-border payments into more than 160 countries in more than 120 currencies.
According to the bank, the service will be based on its cloud platform, which was first launched in the United States in 2020, and Japan will be the first country in Asia to launch it.
