Huawei Cloud, in collaboration with regional partners, has created a Startup Programme for the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa to assist Businesses in going digital.
The project provides Huawei cloud credits, technical assistance, talent development training, and business tools to SMEs in these locations to help them expand.
On the backdrop of the Huawei Cloud Summit Middle East & Africa 2023 in Dubai, the Huawei Cloud Startup Programme was inaugurated. The Summit, held under the theme 'Inspire Innovation with Everything as a Service,' brought together over 300 government leaders, cloud-native industry experts, and customer representatives from the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa to discuss how to make the most of cloud and the critical role of cloud in driving digital economy growth in the region.
The initiative exemplifies Huawei's commitment to creating a regional startup ecosystem that would enable 1000 businesses in the region to develop and flourish on Huawei Cloud by 2025.
Representatives from the UAE Ministry of Economy, Middle East incubator GEN Asia, Dinarak - Jordan's licenced payment services provider, Ignite - a non-profit company owned by the Government of Pakistan and administered by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, and Kuwait's startup representatives Eyon TV, One Global, and Empower attended the launch ceremony.
