FishLog, an Indonesian fishery startup, has raised US$3.5 million in a pre-series A funding round led by BRI Ventures, Accel, and Insignia Ventures Partners.
The startup was founded in 2020 by three graduates of the Bogor Institute of Agriculture: Bayu Anggara, Abdul Halim, and Reza Fahlepi.
FishLog operates a business-to-business marketplace that connects stakeholders in the nation's cold chain network of fisheries, such as cold storage warehouses, fisherfolk, and buyers. It also offers inventory management, financing, and cold storage digitization services.
The company intends to use the new funds to develop new products and business models, as well as to provide loans to stakeholders in the fishery sector.
FishLog currently employs over 200 people and intends to use the new funds to hire more. It has also established a learning programme called FishLog Academy to educate people about management, quality control, and cold storage operations in order to prepare them for careers in the fishery industry.
