Microsoft has hired Miki Tsusaka from strategy firm Boston Consulting Group as its new Japan president, turning to the consulting industry for help.
Tsusaka will lead Microsoft's entire operation in Japan, including customer and business partner engagement, responsibility for all product, solution, service, and support offerings, and internal governance and operations.
Tsusaka joins Microsoft from Boston Consulting Group, where she worked for over 30 years in the firm's Japan and US offices. Tsusaka, a long-time Senior Partner and Managing Director, also served on the firm's Executive Committee for two three-year terms and as Chief Marketing Officer.
She worked at Boston Consulting Group for clients in a variety of industries in Japan and abroad, assisting them in developing and implementing growth strategies, improving profitability, redesigning organisations, and promoting digital transformation. During her tenure, she established and led several practises and offerings, including marketing, sales, and pricing.

Miki Tsusaka graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Government and East Asian Studies and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
