Even as geopolitical concerns have underlined the need to create solid supply chains elsewhere, Japan's Panasonic Holdings Corp's global chief executive said China remains a high-priority market.
Yuki Kusumi made the remark during a roundtable discussion with reporters in Tokyo. The Group of Seven (G7) leaders' meeting, which concluded this weekend in Hiroshima, has highlighted the need for firms to "de-risk" but not "decouple" from the world's second-largest economy.
"We will continue to develop our businesses in China as we have done in the past," Kusumi stated.
Since its inception in 1918, they have worked to "improve and enhance society," as well as "advance the culture of the world." They will continue to produce value by facing societal concerns head-on, in the hopes of building an "ideal society" filled with both material and spiritual richness.
