A strategic alliance has been established between Quaker Houghton, a manufacturer of industrial process fluids, and Petronas Lubricants International (PLI) to supply goods, services, and solutions to important industrial sectors in India and Malaysia.
According to a joint statement, both businesses may take advantage of their regional market position and product portfolio to offer clients a wider range of industrial solutions.
“PLI will be the sole distributor of Quaker Houghton's line of premium metalworking fluids in Malaysia's industrial and transportation end sectors starting in the second quarter of 2025 (2Q2025).
“In India, Quaker Houghton will offer PLI’s range of high-performance maintenance lubricants and industrial fluids to its steel mill customers,” it said.
Domenico Ciaglia, the group chief strategy and transformation officer for PLI, stated that PLI is dedicated to forming long-term partnerships in order to increase product availability and service quality, thereby solidifying its position as the preferred partner for industrial lubricants worldwide.
“The team at Quaker Houghton are uniquely positioned to unlock opportunities with us, both in terms of reaching new markets and in being the partner we need to lead the industry into a new era of effective, sustainable service,” Ciaglia said.
Asia is one of Quaker Houghton's major markets, and executive vice president, global specialty, and chief growth officer Jeewat Bijlani stated that the partnership allows the business to supply its metalworking fluids to a larger number of clients.
PLI claims that because the two businesses will collaborate and establish new performance benchmarks for industrial applications, the alliance strengthens their common goal of advancing industrial solutions excellence while satisfying the changing demands of contemporary production.
