Over the next five years, Salesforce plans to invest $1 billion in Singapore. The investment, according to the cloud software giant, is intended to hasten the nation's digital transformation and the uptake of Salesforce's main artificial intelligence product, Agentforce.
Salesforce is one of the many tech firms aiming to use generative AI features to increase revenue. Last month, the business released the most recent edition of Agentforce. It has previously referred to the system as the first digital AI platform for businesses, claiming that it can answer complex queries on Salesforce's Slack communications software by using all accessible data.
“We don’t just do sales and marketing here. We also do extremely advanced artificial intelligence development. We have dozens of some of the very best AI engineers in the world here in our Singapore research center,” Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said.
At a time when the nation is struggling with an aging population and falling birth rates, Salesforce stated that Agentforce can assist Singapore in "rapidly expanding" its workforce in a number of critical service and public sectors.
Salesforce's investment was welcomed by Jermaine Loy, general director of the Singapore Economic Development Board, who stated that it will support the nation's endeavors "to build a vibrant hub for AI innovation."
