Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Asia's leading higher education technology business, has been named to lead the company's new Corporate Affairs and Public Policy division in India. As part of his new job, Sanjay will collaborate with the government, industry groups, and other key policy players to drive strategic advancements that will help the brand create an integrated learning ecosystem across the nation. He will also be in charge of upGrad's scholarship programme.
Dr. Kumar brings with him over two decades of in-depth experience and ability in implementing government links and policy advocacy initiatives at the grassroots level. He was a Director with SEWA Bharat for 17 years and worked on livelihood,
microfinance,education and skill-building, and public health projects via his previous undertakings. Dr. Kumar's most recent post was as an India Country Director for
Harvard University's Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute for 5 years, during which time he helped grow and deepen Harvard University's footprint in India. He is now the President of the Harvard Club of India.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar will be based out of the Noida office. A Delhi University alumni, Dr. Kumar holds a Master’s in Public Administration & Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University and has completed his M.Phil and PhD on Microfinance from JNU, New Delhi.
