Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), has been elected President of the confederation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
Sanjiv Mehta is currently the President of Unilever South Asia and a member of Unilever's Global Executive Board's 'Unilever Leadership Executive.'
He will succeed Uday Shankar, the current FICCI President.
Mehta is also a chairperson on the Indian School of Business Board, an associate of the Breach Candy Hospital Trust, and a Harvard Business School's South Asia Advisory Board member.
HUL's market capitalization has increased by more than $55 billion during his eight years at the helm, making it one of the most valuable companies in the country.
HUL was named the most innovative company in India and the eighth-most innovative company globally by Forbes.
Mehta holds a Bachelor of Commerce (India), a Chartered Accountancy (India), and an Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School.
