Sequoia Capital, the world's largest venture capital firm, announced on Tuesday that it intends to split its China, India, and Southeast Asia operations into separate companies.
Sequoia said in a statement signed by the firm's managing partners Roelof Botha, China head Neil Shen, and India head Shailendra Singh that the China, India, and Southeast Asia businesses will become completely independent partnerships with separate brands by March 31, 2024.
The firm's venture business in the United States and Europe will be known as Sequoia Capital following the separation, according to the statement.
Sequoia Capital is a venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, California that specialises in seed, early, and growth stage investments in private companies in the technology sector. The firm had approximately US$85 billion in assets under management as of 2022.
