Singapore's own humanitarian organisation, Singapore Red Cross, has teamed up with cryptocurrency payment gateway Triple-A to accept cryptocurrency as a new form of donation.
The duo said in a statement on Monday that the Singapore Red Cross can now accept cryptocurrency donations from supporters in order to deliver humanitarian services to the vulnerable, particularly in Singapore, thanks to Triple-A's white-label crypto payment solutions.
All cryptocurrency donations will be converted into fiat currency and settled via bank transfer within one business day, ensuring that the funds are immediately available to support the organization's humanitarian initiatives.
The Singapore Red Cross will accept donations in various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), and USD Coin (USDC), according to the statement. Because all crypto wallets are supported through Triple-A, the procedure is straightforward.
"Cryptocurrency donations have become increasingly popular due to the efficiency of processing them and their global accessibility," said Benjamin William, Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Red Cross.
"By accepting digital currencies, we open our doors to a new group of donors who are tech-savvy and want to make a difference with their digital assets," says the organisation.Enabling cryptocurrency donations also gives a new generation of donors who are familiar with digital currencies more opportunities to consider philanthropy and helping the vulnerable," he added.
