Tibor Pandi has been named Citi Country Officer (CCO) for Singapore, the company announced today. His appointment will take effect on February 1, and he will be in charge of all businesses and operations in the country, as well as driving overall franchise performance. He will report to Amol Gupte, Citi's Head of South Asia and ASEAN.
Tibor, a Citi veteran of 22 years, is currently the CCO for Thailand, a position he was appointed to in 2017. He was also tasked with driving the Corporate Bank's strategy and execution, which resulted in meaningful business growth and value-added client solutions.
Tibor joined Citi in 2001 as a Senior Relationship Manager with Citibank Hungary and rose through the ranks to become CCO for Romania, CCO for the Romania & Bulgaria Cluster, and Banking Head for the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. He holds a bachelor's degree in economic sciences from Budapest University of Economic Sciences and speaks English, Hungarian, German, and Serbian.
Tibor will be responsible for the in-country execution of the bank's vision and strategy to be the preeminent banking partner for institutions with cross-border needs and a global leader in wealth management, as well as driving firm-wide transformation to provide the bank with the ability and scale to compete in the digital world. In addition to being Citi's main regulatory representative in Singapore, he will be responsible for fostering successful client relationships at all levels of the organisation and protecting and enhancing Citi's reputation in the country.
Citi has been in Singapore since 1902 and is a full-service bank that provides a wide range of financial products and services to consumers, corporations, governments, and institutions.
Citi Singapore also provides employment to around 8,500 people, making it one of the largest foreign banking employers in Singapore.
