The environmental awareness and corporate responsibility of organizations for their e-waste as well as other hazardous materials, has increased in recent years and will continue to be very mainstream in our economy in the coming years. Tel Aviv based, AllRecycling recognized this need in the early 2000s and since then, has grown to be the leading company in Israel in the field of electronic waste and metals recycling.
AllRecycling was founded in 2010, as an integral part of AllTrade, a global group that specializes in the life cycle of computing, electric and electronic products. The group is controlled by two of the leading families in the Israeli business world - Teddy Sagi, an Israeli billionaire, and the Reichman family, who engages in diverse fields – cars, real estate and investments. “We handle all facets of the life cycle (refurbished, recycling and harvesting) and the value we provide is unmatched”, says Gadi Reichman, CEO, AllRecycling.
The company seeks complete synergy and provides large-scale services to corporations, organizations, local councils and distributors of all segments of the value chain of electronic and computing products. Since its foundation, the company has established 4 enterprises: SDA (small domestic appliances) plant, non-ferrous metals recycling plant, LDA (large domestic appliances) plant and get-deal plant– a plant for the refurbishment of computer and mobile systems, from scrap to refurbished product.
Small Domestic Appliance Recycling Plant
AllRecycling builds all its factories according to the meticulous CENELEC European standards. “It guarantees we recycle properly while protecting the environment and adhering to rigorous manufacturing processes that ensure we produce fitting high-quality raw materials for the industry. Our business concept is to provide a comprehensive service, from start to finish, throughout the e-waste industry”, adds Gadi.
Toward a Circular Economy
AllRecycling strives to create a circular economy. Every substance it "mines" out of the waste of others, prevents mining of the planet, which is much more expensive and harmful and depletes the already limited resources of the Earth.
Since the world population is expected to keep growing, the company understands that recycling is a must.
“Moreover, as we all know, global warming is caused by the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. During our processes, especially with heating and cooling products, we collect and recycle these gases and prevent their discharge into the atmosphere, which actively diminishes the problem. Did you know that a single CFC containing fridge that is not recycled properly causes as much environmental damage as 10,000 km of flight in a jet aircraft?” adds Gadi.
Further, in the field of reuse, the company makes the economy more efficient by offering spare parts and equipment, rather than new equipment (the manufacturing of which is another source of considerable pollution). Its refurbished equipment is sold at the best prices, including warranty and servicing support, and customized perfectly to the needs of its end users. By purchasing the company’s equipment, clients significantly reduce the pollution levels and their economic efficacy increases remarkably.
Besides, AllRecycling’s factories are carefully planned. It adopts state-of-the-art sorting and separation technologies, including gravity separation, electromagnetic induction, atmospheric pressure and optical sorters. In addition, the company liquefies greenhouses gases to treat them ecologically. “We separate nitrogen from air to create a non-hazardous scrapping environment. Furthermore, we develop unique technologies to remove tin from PCB and recycle cobalt, lithium, nickel and copper from LI-ION batteries. Some of our technologies are patent-protected”, says Gadi. The team at AllRecycling also has an environmental protection department and experts who know the relevant legislation to help clients get past legal obstacle as well.
Toward a Favorable Business Environment
Currently, AllRecycling is building 2 more factories. One is a recycling plant for LI-ION batteries of electric and hybrid cars and electronic devices, and the other is a WEEE plastic recycling plant. It also recently registered a patent and will complete the construction of a facility for a related pilot by the end of the year. The patent combines metallurgical processes for the removal of cobalt, copper, nickel and lithium from LI-ION batteries. Needless to say, the demand for these materials increases rapidly, given the need to create batteries for electric cars around the world.
Our business concept is to provide a comprehensive service, from start to finish, throughout the e-waste industry
According to Bloomberg, by 2040, more than 50 million electric cars will be sold worldwide annually and two in three cars will be electric. Altogether, cars will contain more than 10 million tons of batteries that people will have to recycle. The demand for those metals is exceptionally high and their economic value is significant.
They will therefore yield notable revenue to AllRecycling. The team is continuously on the lookout for business partners to deploy its technology. The future of e-waste management seems very promising. Electronic products are manufactured at an ever- growing pace, and the amount of metal waste to collect will increase accordingly in the next few years. “We, therefore, believe the business environment in 2022 and 2023 will be solid and favorable for us”, concludes Gadi.
