The global animation market was valued at $ 372.44 billion in 2021 and is expected to exceed $ 587.1 billion by 2030, increasing at a CAGR of 5.2 percent from 2022 to 2030. While the world is still slumbering after COVID-19, animation and animation-related content are still being screened all around the world. The purchasing of content by broadcasters and buyers from all over the world at events like MIPCOM, Asian Television Forum, Asian Animation Summit, and Seoul Cartoon and Animation Festival, is still active despite the pandemic.
The event organizers have since moved the physical parts of attendance to online pitching in order to keep the event alive. More and more broadcast stations are launching their own Animation Specific Channels to screen these contents as well as support by the online media. Over the two recent years, due to the pandemic, YouTube and Netflix have seen an increase in followers and subscribers. These platforms redefined viewership as compared to the traditional medium, television.
