With the momentum provided by the Indian government and the private sector, project management consultancies (PMC) have taken on the mantle of an integral element of successful construction projects.
But, while it is feasible for eminent companies to partner with a single international or leading PMC to supervise all segments of their mega projects, mid-sized projects usually require multiple contractors. This makes it difficult for such clients to achieve transparency and the same standards of quality across different departments. Driven by a sole focus on supporting such clients to relish the combined perks of cost, time, and quality efficiency and clear project visibility, Manomav Engineers (MEPL) - a renowned consultancy based in Noida, Delhi NCR - has pioneered a revolutionary program, Control Your Construction in 21 Days (CYC-21).
“For a PMC, everything is planning, monitoring, and control. But when the project size is small, contractors lack greatly in sequencing and work coordination”, explains Antriksh Tawar, Director, MEPL. Set to simplify the management of construction for business owners, especially those from non-construction industries, the platform assigns and aligns all the key stakeholders with common targets and blueprints, thereby preparing them to achieve perfection.
The Growth Engines
“CYC-21 is just a taste of what actually happens in Manomav”, adds Antriksh. Born as a collective vision of IIT alumni Antriksh and Abhinav Bharadwaj, and a PEC alumnus, Akhil Saxena, MEPL has been effective in enabling product innovation, organizational leadership, construction expertise, and market-segmented strategies since 2012. “We started our journey with Building Information Modeling (BIM). We further analyzed the industry, through which we found a gap in design planning and shifted our business towards project management”, reminisces Antriksh.
Currently, the company specializes in offering a myriad of services like quantity survey, BIM shop drawings, and bar bending schedules, which reflect a perfect blend of the safe practices, avant-garde technologies, and automated communications. Steered by the director trio, MEPL today has grown to amass the affinity and a whopping 70 percent retention rate of marquee clients across various domains, encompassing hospitality, education, healthcare, FMCG, and even the parliament of the nation. Owing to its optimized project timelines, quality, and result-oriented approach, the firm has garnered esteemed awards and recognitions. “We completed one of the housing projects, which had 13 floors and 700 flats, in just 24 months, for which we were awarded.
Another project in Gurgaon was also awarded Outstanding Concrete Structure in 2021”, proclaims Antriksh.
The Strength
MEPL is uniquely positioned to not just develop but also implement the schedules. The CYC-21 program, for instance, is integrated with highlevel web apps, onsite job cards, and weekly reviews that enable stakeholders to understand the agendas of the projects and the clients to engage with the company if necessary. Additionally, the firm follows Eliyahu Goldratt’s theory of constraints for buffer management, wherein consumption of project buffers is analyzed to easily monitor and forecast project timelines. The team can also access advanced dashboards that provide live updates on the projects, which are divided into multiple tasks. On the other hand, the four levels of quality control also add a competitive edge to the company across expertise inspection, crossover visual control, photographic visualization, and quality control compliance. The company also believes in fully utilizing and recycling its resources while minimizing waste.

In terms of cost management, the team at MEPL bifurcates the complete project into different packages and utilizes an assumption sheet to define the cost per square foot of each project. Based on the CYC-21 program, a contingency cost is also added. The process is closed by the value engineering of the procurement team, while cost overruns are adjusted in future packages. The firm also has a team dedicated to quantity surveying and cost and scope management, especially for big projects like the Parliament, ITPO, and India International Convention Center (IICC).
MEPL’s significant strength also lies in the skilled workmanship of its multidisciplinary team of 100+ professionals, who strive towards customizing the experiences while staying current. In order to achieve the same, the team conducts plan visualization control (PVC) sessions aimed at educating the customers about the control process, which are followed by a rapid audit of the project and interviews to identify the customers’ requirements.
After deploying the CYC-21 program as per the needs, the team creates a draft covering all the apprehensions to demonstrate the fail-proof nature of strategies. “Every project in our company is connected to a Project Management Office Manager, who provides additional competency as required to ensure the success of an individual client”, informs Akhil. The company currently has 40 projects under its belt and has scaled up its technology portfolio to power 100 projects at the same rate. MEPL is currently in the process of developing leadership and envisions continuing to deliver world-class consultancy and project management services in India as well as internationally.
