The worldwide waste management market is valued at $993.4 billion in 2022 and is estimated to reach $1782.5 billion by 2030, growing at a compound yearly growth rate of 6.71 percent. The waste treatment industry has seen significant growth in recent years due to several factors such as increasing awareness of the importance of waste management, and the negative environmental impact of improper waste disposal has led to stricter regulations globally. This has created a greater demand for waste treatment services.
Advancements in technology have made it possible to treat a wide range of waste materials, making the industry more efficient and effective. Finally, the growing population and associated increase in waste production have also contributed to the industry’s growth. Established in 2009, Cleanco Waste Treatment, is a world-leading provider of waste treatment services for over a decade and has been helping its customers reduce their environmental impact and improve their business performance.
CWT is committed to finding innovative solutions to its customer’s waste problems, and being environmentally responsible. Cleanco Waste Treatment (CWT) is a member of the H.E. Leveraging Digitalization to Drive the Customer Experience

Additionally, an online portal will be available for its customers to pay fees and receive facility information, and a bot to answer any questions they might have at all times.
“In our treatment and disposal sites, our plant control systems in our facilities ensure full automation of the processes with minimal human interference. The system measures the process parameters and takes the appropriate action to ensure the smooth flow of the process which ensures a seamless waste management experience from cradle-to-grave”, stated Dr. Khalid Khouri, CEO of Cleanco Waste Treatment.
“Our vision is in line with the strategic directives of our Government and The Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi (Tadweer). We will utilize best practices worldwide and meet the highest international standards for better public health and the environment in our country”, shares Dr. Khalid Khouri, Approximately 80-90 percent of the Abu Dhabi market is managed by Cleanco Waste Treatment. The Sustainable Choices We Make at CWT
CWT has recently teamed with Siraj Power, the most prominent solar energy provider in the UAE, and completed a Solar Hybrid Solution for Abu Dhabi Medical and Hazardous Waste Treatment Facility. This hybrid solution combines solar PV, diesel generators, and batteries to provide reliable power to Cleanco. This reduces fuel consumption, operational costs, and the carbon footprint of CWT’s current diesel-powered waste treatment plant, thereby contributing to UAE’s sustainable vision for 2030. In addition to producing over 2GWh of electricity, CWT’s hybrid waste treatment plant will save 635 tonnes of carbon dioxide, ensuring that natural resources are preserved in the UAE. Furthermore, CWT is working on a model study that would examine the use blends of bio-diesel and petro-diesel to run its service fleet vehicles which would not only use a renewable energy resource but also emit fewer pollutants into the environment.
A Robust Roadmap
CWT is one of the largest providers of hazardous and medical waste management solutions, with a total treatment capacity of more than 60 tons per day for incineration alone. The firm is currently broadening the scope of its solutions and planning to establish more disposal cells as part of its Hazardous Waste Landfill. CWT also started an ‘Acid-Base’ Neutralization system, a pre-treatment unit and is further planning to develop its infrastructure adding a Redox system, Evaporation Ponds, and Solidification and Stabilization facilities in the future. This will eventually enable CWT to become one of the leading providers of Integrated Facilities in this field.
