The education landscape in Thailand is evolving with a focus on quality enhancement, increased access, internationalisation and digitalisation. These developments aim to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in an increasingly interconnected and technology-driven world. The Asian Institute of Hospitality Management (AIHM) is actively contributing to this educational transformation as one of the kingdom’s leading institutes. AIHM was founded by Minor Hotels in academic association with Les Roches and is a premier hospitality institute.
It offers a distinctive blend of Swiss-style education and a global perspective, making it the top choice for comprehensive hospitality training in the region. “By introducing a curriculum designed in academic association with and approved by Les Roches to Southeast Asia, we at AIHM prioritise Meylan, Chief Operating Officer at Minor Education. The education landscape and opportunities in Thailand have evolved and expanded in recent years. The Thai government has placed significant emphasis on improving the quality of education and increasing access to education at all levels. One notable development is the implementation of the Thailand 4.0 policy, which aims to transform the country into a digital economy. Furthermore, the internationalisation of education has been a growing trend in Thailand.
Courses offered by AIHM
AIHM’s curriculum for its BBA in Global Hospitality Management equips its students with a solid understanding of hospitality management through rigorous academic coursework, while also providing them with real-world exposure by allowing them to work in hotels as part of their learning process. By immersing them in actual hospitality operations, the students gain valuable hands-on skills, honing their abilities to handle real-life challenges. Similarly designed, the Certificate in International Hotel Administration (CIHA) and the Advanced Certificate in International Hotel Management (ACIHM) are condensed versions of the BBA programme. They are both for those within the hospitality industry looking to fast-track to management, as well as those wishing to transfer to the industry mid-career.
X-factor: Transforming Students into Professionals
Another aspect that sets AIHM apart is its emphasis on grooming students into consummate professionals. From the very first day of enrolment, students are taught the art of presentation, etiquette, and how to don the appropriate attire, thus preparing them to seamlessly transition from the role of students to that of young, competent professionals in the hospitality arena. Feedback from AIHM students. “The primary factor that I took into account as an international student was the affordability of education, specifically when considering tuition fees and living expenses.AIHM is quite cost effective in this context.”
“At our institution, the course not only prepares us academically, but also equips us with practical skills for the real world through internships as hotel employees. These internships play a significant role in getting us ready for the challenges of the hospitality industry. This is a unique aspect of AIHM’s programme, and it helps us develop the skills and professionalism we need to succeed”.

Educational excellence
AIHM’s faculty members, who are esteemed leaders in the field of hospitality management, bring with them extensive international experience, enriching the classroom environment. AIHM also offers students an unparalleled opportunity to expand their horizons by enrolling in an exchange programme at Les Roches campuses in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, or Marbella, Spain, or even to transfer and graduate with a Les Roches degree.
AIHM’s commitment to Swiss-style education quality is evident through its academic association with Les Roches. This collaboration ensures AIHM’s BBA, CIHA and ACIHM curriculums closely aligns with theirs and is approved by them, maintaining a high standard of excellence. Regular evaluations are conducted to guarantee that their educational delivery match the same level of quality. The institute provides an exceptional education in Asia, a desirable option for families who prefer their children to study closer to home.
AIHM is a relatively new institution, having been operational for only three years. Their main objectives for the upcoming year are to ensure the graduation of their first batch of BBA students, and to attract new students to Thailand and encourage them to join their institution. They currently operate two campuses: a primary one located in Bangkok and a secondary campus in Pattaya. While there is a possibility of establishing a third campus in the northern region of Thailand in the future, their current priority is to expand and develop their campus in Bangkok.
