Around the world, more and more people are showing a keen interest in health and wellness services, and this trend has taken off, especially after the pandemic. We have seen a surge in health and wellness experts stepping up to guide folks on their fitness journeys. But it is not just about physical health anymore. The pandemic has thrown mental health into the spotlight too.
Amid this wellness boom, there is a missing piece. People are not just looking for workout tips; they want an all-encompassing solution that covers everything. There is an increasing demand for a full 360-degree package, including personalized nutrition, tailored strength training, mobility programs, sleep guidance, and support for emotional, mental, and social well-being.
Dr. Bhakti Naik, the brain behind Ikigai Health, noticed this gap and decided to fill it. She has come up with a platform that dives deep into what each individual needs. Her goal is not just to help them reach their fitness targets but also to improve their overall well-being, allowing them to live longer, independently, and happily.
Dr. Naik has delved deep into the inner functioning of both physical and mental health before going forward with this project. Her idea is not only to provide motivation for physical fitness, but to provide a tailored holistic solution to any given client based on age, gender, ethnicity, body type, lifestyle, demographics, upbringing, and other specific requirements. She educates all the clients in detail about their health and the measures that need to be taken to make it better. In this regard, she has pointed out a problem with the social media videos that are trending on this subject.
“We can see that people are blindly following online workshops on fitness and are ultimately not getting the desired results if not ending up worse than when they started. This is because no two human bodies are the same. Customized solutions regarding nutrition, strength training, and sleep need to be provided such that the client becomes better aware of their body type and the kind of routine that can be most effective for them. This is exactly why Ikigai Health has come into being. We handhold every client right from the point they knock on our door until the point where they feel completely transformed by our program and understand themselves and their bodies best,” states Dr. Naik.
The Growth Story
Dr. Naik’s global exposure has played a very important role in establishing the morale of Ikigai Health.
She grew up in the regions of East Africa, namely, Tanzania and Kenya until the age of 18 years. She then moved to the United States for her further education. After completing an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and a clinical doctorate in Physical Therapy from the US, she came to India and worked there for 14 years. Having played competitive badminton at the National level in Kenya, she is acutely aware of what one needs to do to achieve peak performance.
Currently, she is operating Ikigai Health from Singapore, which is a global business hub. Her company has gained considerable trust and recognition in the market and is currently serving high-profile clients from Dubai, the US, India, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK, and Australia.
Operational Excellence
There are several ways through which Dr. Naik is providing solutions to her clients. She is specifically concerned about the age of a client. According to her, as people begin to age, there are changes such as decreased bone density, decreased mobility, gut changes, decreased strength due to muscle loss, hormonal changes, slowing down, and more that begin to exhibit.
Geriatric people find it more and more difficult as they age to get motivated to be mobile and stay active. This requires a little more effort on their part. As a health and wellness consultant, it is her sole duty to provide the required kind of motivation (which differs from person to person) and mental support to them and make them aware of holistic well-being such that they remain independent and live longer happily and healthily.
Our bodies & minds function on hormones as the fuel. It is important to understand quality & quantity of sleep, the individualized appropriate nutrition, & exercise plans specific to the phase of life you are in based on hormones. Balance your hormones & you live a balanced life from all aspects
Currently, the company’s clients range from the ages of 8 years to 90 years and it is only through personal consultations and individually customized programs that Ikigai Health continues to be able to gain the confidence and trust of all these clients. “Most of our clients have been acquired through word of mouth until now. We have been immensely successful in making clients realize the value that we add to their lives. This in turn has resulted in them recommending us to their near and dear ones”, mentions Dr. Naik. She also provides solutions through community-building activities and talks for social, educational, and mental well-being. The idea here is to build a healthy community of human beings who can gain mental and emotional wellness through socializing and interacting with each other.
Looking at the Future
The primary motto of Ikigai Health has been to simplify human lives and promote healthy living and mental well-being. “There is only one tool we have complete control over in our lives and that is our body. If we do not take care of that one tool, we are limited from doing many other things in life,” says Dr. Naik. Dr. Naik wants to carry along with the good work and create a remarkable portfolio of success stories in the years to come. “We want to keep innovating newer solutions and keep improving our techniques with the changing trends of society”, she concludes.
