“What I heard then was this productive buzz,” Stalzer recalls, “as opposed to traditional testing on a piece of paper. It was a different feeling.” which was almost a decade ago, when New Hampshire applied for a waiver from state-mandated standardized tests so it could administer per formative assessments, in which students produce a project or do an activity to show what they’ve learned.
